Coastal Edge Shoot the Pier 5K

Join us for our 1st annual Coastal Edge Shoot the Pier 5K race along the beautiful Virginia Beach Boardwalk. Flat out and back course. T-shirts and medals will be awarded to all finishers. Plus enjoy the 6th annual Coastal Edge Shoot the Pier Surfing Competition that will be taking place the same day. Runners will start the race on the boardwalk at the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier at 14th street and the boardwalk. The race will run north to 38th street and return back to 14th street. There will be a water station at the start/finish line and at the turnaround point. Parking is available at the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier and also behind the 14th Street Pier shops located on Atlantic Avenue. There is also metered spaces available. The race will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 7am. Packet pick up will be held on Friday June 19, 2026 from 5pm to 7pm at Coastal Edge Oceanfront (316 21st Street Virginia Beach, VA 23451). Race packets can also be picked up between 6am and 7pm at the start line race morning. One of the things we love most about our Coastal Edge 5K races is the spirit of the event. Our race is designed to be a fun, welcoming run for everyone, whether you’re chasing a personal best, jogging with friends, walking the course, or crossing your very first finish line. As a reminder, the Coastal Edge Steel Pier Classic 5K is a fun run and not a chipped/timed race. Our goal is to create an experience that feels inclusive, encouraging, and welcoming to runners and walkers of all ages, abilities, and paces.
