5K at the Fair

Please join La Plata County 4-H for the inaugural 5K at the Fair! The race will be on August 8 at 8:30 AM at the La Plata County Fairgrounds in Durango, 2500 Main Ave. Check in starts at 8 AM. We will be meeting on the lawn, next to the Extension Building. Runners and walkers will go south on the Animas River Trail from the La Plata County Fairgrounds and will run or walk 1.55 miles south to the fire department. Participants will then turn around and finish at La Plata County Fairgrounds, right where we started. Please note this will be a Zero Waste event. Participants are encouraged to carry their own water. This event is a fun run/walk format, and there will be no chip timing or prizes. However, we will have awesome giveaways for all participants!! All proceeds from the race will go to benefit La Plata County 4-H. Our purpose is to provide a supportive setting for all girls and boys to mature into competent, caring, and responsible people through volunteerism and the learning of valuable life skills. 4-H also provides many opportunities for young people to take on leadership roles and gives all youth a place to belong.
