The Regeneration Foundation and Ethos Human Performance, in partnership with Plymouth Township Veterans Commission, will be hosting a 5k Ruck honoring our armed forces and first responders. This will take place in Plymouth on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 8:00am. This walk will start at the Plymouth Township VFW, stop halfway at the Wayne County First Responders Memorial on Hines Dr and back to the VFW for celebration and fellowship. The 5K Ruck Walk brings our community together to move with purpose. Inspired by military ruck marches, participants will walk a 5K route carrying a backpack or weighted ruck as a way to honor the sacrifices of our veterans and service members. All are welcome including: veterans, families, athletes, and supporters. Carry some weight if you’d like, or simply walk and be part of the mission. Every step represents resilience, service, and support for those who have carried far heavier loads for our country. The goal is to move together, show appreciation, and raise awareness for those who have served. What Is Rucking? Rucking is simply walking with weight carried in a backpack (called a ruck). Originating from military training, rucking builds endurance, strength, and mental resilience. For this event, participants may choose to carry a weighted backpack or simply walk the course in support. Whether you carry weight or not, the goal is the same: move together, challenge yourself, and honor those who have carried far heavier loads in service to our country. As an added bonus: If you fill your pack with canned goods to add weight, we will donate the collected cans to a local food bank and you will be entered to win a special surprise!
