Welcome to Black Mountain Classic & Freestyle Races. Race Headquarters will be: Chateau at Black Mountain 10621 Twin Lakes Rd Cheboygan , Mi. 49721 The courses feature incredible rolling terrain and views of Black Lake and Lake Huron. Choose from the Classic race on Saturday, the Freestyle on Sunday, or register for both! All races start at 10:00am Saturday: Black Mountain Nordic Classic – 10:00am Start 25 km & 10 km (new distance!) classic-only cross country ski race (Michigan Cup Event) The 25k Classic Race has been nicknamed "The Beauty" by ski racers because it winds through rolling northern forest trails with views of both Black Lake and Lake Huron. Challenging and Enjoyable. The 10k course is new for 2026 and the route will be determined closer to the event date. Sunday: Black Mountain Freestyle – 10:00am Start 12 km & 5 km (new distance!) freestyle (skate) ski race (Michigan cup event) The 12k Freestyle Race has been nicknamed "The Beast" by ski racers because of its challenging hills. A Thrilling Course to skate!!! The 5k course is new for 2026 and the route will be determined closer to the event date. All proceeds fund grooming efforts at Black Mountain.
