Memphis was an academically gifted young man who had the opportunity to attend some of New York’s top schools, where he grew both academically and personally among a community that recognized his potential and encouraged him to pursue excellence. He was accepted into leading colleges and offered full scholarships — opportunities made possible because people believed they could make a difference in a young man's life.
