Every year for the last 31 years on Christmas Day, Temecula area Rotary Clubs have come together with a mission to provide free hot Christmas meals for those who may be alone or unable to prepare a Christmas dinner. In 2025 The Community Christmas Dinner fed approximately 1,400 retireees, families, and anyone who needed to share in a fresh, hot Christmas dinner. But it's also sharing in the camaraderie that may otherwise be absent on Christmas Day that fills the heart as well. Dinners include all the trimmings, freshly prepared sliced turkey, ham, potatoes, vegatables, roll, gravy and a slice of pie. Volunteers also deliver hot meals to senior residence complexes, assisted living, Oak Grove School and more. There were just over 400 hot meals sent out for delivery! The deliveries are done 10-12 at a time to assure the dinners get there hot/warm and are all are delivered by community volunteers who sign up. On site dinners are prepared and served by volunteer servers at the MSJC Temecula campus in the school cafeteria. At MSJC, there are upwards to 50 onsite volunteers. Seating hosts, a Santa room (with Santa and a photographer with gifts for each child), servers, busers and of course cooks and helpers doing food preparation. It is a true labor of love hosted by your Temecula Valley Rotarians and many community volunteers. The Community Christmas Dinner has become a Temecula Valley philanthropic institution.
