Each season comes to an end with a celebratory 5K. This closing event gives program participants of all abilities a tangible sense of accomplishment. Crossing the finish line instills confidence through completion and is a joyful moment program participants always remember! Everyone who participates in our 5K receives a commemorative medal to celebrate this incredible achievement. What's a 5K Buddy? Every Girls on the Run participant at the 5K must run or walk alongside their chosen 5K Buddy. A 5K Buddy is someone 16+ who is responsible for encouraging, motivating, and keeping them safe on the 5K course and throughout the day. Each GOTR participant should be paired with one 5K Buddy. We ask that only one 5K buddy register per GOTR participant. Any additional people who want to participate should register as a Community Runner. What's a Community Runner? For the first time, the Girls on the Run Greater Boston 5K is excited to have a limited number of 5K bibs for community runners! If you've always wanted to experience the joy of a Girls on the Run 5K, now is your chance! Girls on the Run participants and coaches are already registered for this event and DO NOT need to register again. This event will take place rain or shine. Please plan to join the celebration, whatever the weather brings!
