The Great Strides RGV 5K & Walk is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's signature fundraising event, bringing together runners, walkers, families, and local businesses to support the fight against cystic fibrosis - a rare, genetic disease that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. Join us onSaturday, October 3, 2026, at Westside Park in McAllen, TX for a fun, family-friendly morning making a difference, one step at a time. Whether you're running the timed 5K or participating in the free community walk, every registration and dollar raised helps fund lifesaving research, specialized care, and advocacy for people living with CF. For more than 35 years, Great Strides has united communities across the country to help create more tomorrows for people living with cystic fibrosis. Gather your friends, family, or coworkers and join us as every step brings us closer to a cure. $35 5k registration includes: Custom finisher medal Official Race Bib with Chip Timing Age Group Awards Music & Family-Friendly Fun Plus! Raise $100 or more and earn the official Great Strides RGV event t-shirt! Packet Pick-Up: Friday, October 2 – Location & time TBD Saturday, October 3 (Race Day) – Beginning at 7:00 AM before the race Important Information Packets will not be mailed if they are not picked up. Finisher medals will be awarded only at the finish line and will not be mailed to in-person participants. Registration fees are non-refundable, including if you are unable to attend or if the event is canceled due to circumstances beyond our control.
