As an initiative of the Union-Snyder Community Action Agency (CAA) , the Hunger Coalition brings together community members and representatives from organizations ranging from social service agencies to food pantries to local schools – all motivated by developing a community-wide, coordinated approach to address food insecurity in our community. Since its inception in 2020, the Union-Snyder Hunger Coalition has garnered a membership network of more than 100 representatives and grown to be a well-established voice on food insecurity issues. As a network, we coordinate meetings with key stakeholder groups, including food access programs and local producers, we communicate information about food resources, and we organize educational events. Proceeds raised through this 5K will support the Hunger Coalition's work year-round to address food insecurity by supporting our area's food access programs and hosting awareness-building events.
