Coronado’s Crown City Open Water Swim (formerly the 4th of July Rough Water Swim) is a long-standing Independence Day weekend tradition bringing together swimmers, families, clubs, and the local community for an unforgettable open water experience at Glorietta Bay Park, alongside support from Coronado’s local swim community including Coronado Swim Team Elite. Set against the backdrop of the iconic Coronado Bridge, the protected bay course offers calm water conditions, creating an ideal environment for both first-time open water swimmers and experienced competitors alike. With distances ranging from the Youth 250M Dash to the 3K Open Water Swim, the event welcomes athletes of all ages and experience levels. All participants receive a finisher medal, commemorative swim cap, and race t-shirt.
