Mile For Her

Teal Diva presents: Mile for Her — a virtual movement with meaning. Teal Diva supports women affected by gynecologic cancer, focusing on emotional well-being, connection, and education. Through community events and outreach, we empower survivors, honor legacies, and raise awareness about symptoms and early detection. A Mile for Her began in honor of our friend Amber Blackwood. While training for our annual 5K, Amber incorporated trampoline training and had worked her way up to a few miles. But just weeks before the event, she became sick again. In the month leading up to that race, we encouraged our community to walk a mile for Amber. When she passed, we carried that spirit forward — first by including a Mile for Her as part of our 5K, and now as its own stand-alone event. Amber’s strength and joy continue to inspire every step we take. And while this all began as a result of Amber, it has grown to be for anyone diagnosed with gynecologic cancer whether she is still with us or has passed on. Whether you bike, row, run, walk, paddle, or jump — do it for her. Do it for yourself. For the survivor in your life. For the one you lost. For your sister, your friend, your mother — the woman who fought gynecologic cancer with everything she had. You set the pace. You choose your activity. You move when and how it works for you. All we ask is that you commit to at least one mile — because every step, every mile, every moment you dedicate… it’s all for her. We’re logging 9,583 miles — one for every gynecologic cancer diagnosed each month in the U.S. Every mile honors a woman’s journey. This September, join us in raising awareness for gynecologic cancers and funds for the Teal Diva Survivor Retreat, a transformative long weekend for 20 gynecologic cancer survivors. In a peaceful, awe-inspiring setting, these resilient women will connect with others who’ve walked similar paths, embrace the spirit of sisterhood, and find rest, reflection, and joy.
