旅 ORRRC Turkey Hunt Map & Compass Challenge George Rogers Clark Park ⏰ Start Time: 2:00 PM | Time Limit: 2 hours Registration: Opens at 12:00 PM Join us for the ORRRC Turkey Hunt Orienteering Challenge—a fun test of speed, navigation, and strategy! Finisher Awards: Presented to the top 50 finishers. ✨ Pre-Race Training (Optional): At 12:00 PM, a simple practice course will be available for first-time participants (come to the race start area) At 12:30 PM, the Miami Valley Orienteering Club will offer a voluntary intro session—perfect for newcomers or anyone wanting a quick refresher. This will also take place at the race start area. 吝 How It Works: Two hour time limit to find as many controls as possible and make it back to the finish. Find controls in any order. Controls are worth five (5) points each with one (1) point penalty for each minute late. 吝 What is Orienteering? It’s an outdoor adventure sport where participants use a detailed map and compass to navigate through a series of checkpoints. Think of it as a mix of cross-country running and treasure hunting! REGISTRATION: Registration is available to all through RunSignup prior to the race. Online registration remains open until approximately 15 minutes before race start and can be done in-person at the race. Hard copy registration sheets are also available on race day if needed. Minors may be registered on RunSignup by a parent or guardian or in-person with a parent or guardian present to sign the waiver. CHECK-IN: All participants must check-in before the race.
