The Ravine Trail Run takes place on cross-country ski trails with several hills, making it moderately challenging. The trail is a 3.2-mile loop, wide enough for passing and walking, featuring hills, valleys, shaded tree areas, and sunny prairie sections. The terrain includes grass, mud, packed dirt, and rocky sections in washout areas. The 5k race consists of one loop, while the 10k race includes two loops. Course and Location: The race starts at the Ravine Landing building next to the parking lot at the end of Ravine Road, following the Green and Red trail loops. These will be marked with ACR arrows, but be aware of many offshoots and the fact that trails are open to the public. We do our best with signage. Registration Information: Register on the Runsignup page. Prices will increase on the following dates: 9/2/2024, 9/6/2024, and on race day 9/7/2024. Register early to get the best price. Location and Parking: The race starts at the Ravine Landing building next to the parking lot at the end of Ravine Road. There is a large parking lot in the park that should accommodate all racers. Packet Pickup: Pre-race day packet pickup details are TBD; expect it to be one night the week before the race. Day-of packet pickup starts at 7 AM and includes your bib number, timing chip, and any event swag. Race Schedule: 7:00 AM - Race Check-In & Day-of Registration opens 8:00 AM - 10k Race Starts 8:15 AM - 5k Race Starts 9:15 AM - Awards (time subject to change) Aid Stations: There will be water and light snacks at the start line. Please bring your own water bottle to minimize waste, but a water refill station will be available at the start. Timing and Results: The Ravine Trail Run is a gun-timed race using chips. Each runner must wear a race bib visible at all times, especially when crossing the finish line. Timing is based on a group start. Faster runners should start closer to the start line, while walkers should start near the back of the corral to prevent bottlenecking. B
